Earl P. Maynard, 92, of Gifford, IL, formerly of Clinton, IL passed away at 11:06 AM, July 4, 2022 at Country Healthcare and Rehab, Gifford, IL.

Services will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Jim Kilson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 11 AM – 12 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Lane Christian Church.

Earl was born January 7, 1930 in Gallatin County, Shawneetown, IL the son of William Everett and Elizabeth Faye (Pritchard) Maynard. He married Anita Jane Smith September 6, 1958 in Norris City, IL. She passed away August 26, 2002.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra (Wes) Hardt, Sharon, WI; stepchildren, Roger Kilzer, Charleston, IL; and Vicky (Larry) Wurl, Rantoul, IL; sister, Vanda (Dwight) Turner, Norris City, IL; sisters-in-law, Joanne Maynard and Glenda Maynard; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers:  Bill, David, Max, Clyde, Herbert Eugene, Bob, Donnie, and Larry Maynard; and sisters, Kathleen, and Eileen Koberlein.

Earl received his education in Shawneetown.  He was a very hard worker and he took pleasure in every job he did.  He especially loved being a welder.  Earl loved his family and he was a mild and generous man.  He attended Lane Christian Church in Lane, IL and he resided in Clinton, IL until his final days in Gifford, IL at Country Health Care Center for the last 3 years.  Earl loved fishing and taking care of tomatoes in his garden.  He loved going to the Friendship Center and eating lunch where he met and enjoyed other Seniors.
