Ville Platte Rotary Club Meeting - 11-3-26

Rotarian Steve Philips invited Eric Fontenot from FE2 to present the program at the Ville Platte Rotary Luncheon on Tuesday.    FE2 is a Mechanical Forensic Engineering Firm that has established offices in Ville Platte.  FE2 looks at projects after a mechanical failure to determine the cause.  Their largest clients are Insurance companies and attorneys.  They also perform pre-loss audits to help insurance underwriters determine their risk.

They are strictly mechanical – if something is supposed to move, and it stopped moving, they will look at it to determine why.  They spend about half of their time working in the field.  Their shop also has a fuel contamination lab.  They conduct interviews to clarify what is happening.  Investigations are conducted and reports are prepared.

The three main areas they look at include equipment failure, vehicles – including accident reconstruction and MEP - mechanical, electrical, plumbing.  Most of their work in the MEP area are large industrial projects.

FE2 is called to provide expert testimony in court.  Their job is to tell the truth, no matter who their client is and explain to the court what happened.
